For this growing young family, our Northern Virginia interior design studio was entrusted with creating a serene and elevated retreat in McLean—beginning with a complete transformation of the primary bedroom. Enveloped in a soft, sophisticated palette of sage green by Sherwin-Williams, the space was designed as a calming oasis—a place to restore and recharge after busy days.

Layered textures and tailored furnishings bring both visual and tactile comfort, from the lush velvet pillows to the plush bench and custom nightstands. Above, a botanical Thibaut ceiling treatment adds an unexpected moment of artistry. Carefully considered accents, including sculptural lighting and curated artwork, create rhythm and harmony throughout the space.
Beyond the bedroom, the home flows seamlessly through thoughtfully composed spaces. The entryway sets the tone with quiet elegance: crisp wainscoting, a warm wood door, and curated decor invite a welcoming transition.
In the dining room, Thibaut wallpaper adds visual depth and texture, complementing custom millwork in a tranquil sea-glass tone. A crystal chandelier offers a touch of sparkle, while a circular brass bar cart adds both charm and functionality. The adjacent breakfast area blends rustic warmth with subtle modernity, featuring natural textures and a soft geometric wallcovering, anchored by a sculptural wood table and vintage-inspired chairs.
Throughout the home, our focus remained on creating spaces that feel both elevated and livable, balancing timeless sophistication with everyday functionality. The result is a collection of rooms that reflect intentional beauty, crafted comfort, and a deeply personal sense of home.
