A Historic Bungalow Reimagined: Inside the Pamela Harvey Interiors Studio

We recently purchased and renovated a historic bungalow to serve as the creative studio for Pamela Harvey Interiors in the Tampa Bay Area. From the beginning, our vision was to create a space that reflects both how we work and the layered, thoughtful environments we design for our clients. This Tampa Bay studio complements our long-standing Northern Virginia design studio, allowing us to serve clients across both regions while maintaining a cohesive design philosophy.

Throughout the renovation, we made a conscious effort to preserve many of the home’s original architectural features while giving each room a fresh, updated punch through bold wallcoverings and curated details. The result is a studio that feels collected, personal, and deeply rooted in character.

In the main living room, we wrapped the walls in Thibaut Design’s rich green grasscloth, an elegant solution that also helped conceal existing wall texture. This lush backdrop set the tone for mixing fabrics from Thibaut and Schumacher. I especially fell in love with Johanna Ortiz’s collection for Schumacher; her fearless use of color and print speaks directly to my design sensibility.

We selected her Amazonas Mystique, Echoes of the Rainforest fabric for our drapery and accented the designers’ workspace with Palm Tree Garden wallcovering, bringing energy and movement into the room.

The powder bath was another opportunity to layer impact into a small space. We paired a prefabricated vanity from Wayfair with gold plumbing accents and one of my all-time favorite wallcoverings, Summer Lily by Cole & Son, a pattern I’ve now used in nearly every colorway.

Throughout the house, the studio incorporates the same design fundamentals we use in our client projects: interesting lighting, abundant greenery, a mix of old and new, classic furniture silhouettes layered with modern elements, and a playful combination of abstract art and vintage accessories. Natural light, intentional materials, and thoughtful details allow the space to function as both a working design hub and a place to experience our aesthetic firsthand.

Within the studio, we house our design library, material samples, and sourcing resources, making it easy to collaborate closely with clients in an environment that feels residential, welcoming, and inspiring. Every room serves a purpose—whether for creative development, client meetings, or styling and project planning.

This studio represents a meaningful step in the growth of our firm. More than an office, it is a living expression of our approach to interiors: timeless, functional, and deeply personal.

Together with our Northern Virginia / DC Metro design studio, this Florida Suncoast studio reflects the evolution of Pamela Harvey Interiors into a bi-regional practice rooted in thoughtful, character-driven design.
